Skylike

Since the birth of civilisation, humans have looked at the sky and found meaning in imagined arrangements of stars. With Skylike we wanted to explore the visualisation of social networks as the night sky. For that, we used data from Goodreads, a books social network.

In Skylike, the user is the centre of the universe, like how ancients saw Earth as the centre of the world. The stars in the sky represent the user's friends. A constellation is formed between you and the friends who have read the same book.
